The #1 bull of the breed for Docility EPD now has over 500 progeny recorded in 50+ herds and 25 of these herds used him successfully on heifers. CC&7 has a CED and BW EPD that qualifies him for use on heifers as well as high accuracy growth and carcass traits. CC&7 has been one of ABS and ORIgen's top selling bulls and has been one of the most widely used bulls in the breed this past spring.

Nineteen CC&7 sons averaged $7187 and sold to six states in our February 3, 2009 production sale.

The top selling bull in our 81-year history at $47,500 was a CC&7 son named Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam is also with ORIgen and ABS. In our 2010 sale, forty-four CC&7 sons led the way averaging $5202. A full sister to Hoover Dam was the top selling female in the history of the farm at $50,000 in our 2010 auction.

The first CC&7 daughters will wean their first calves in the fall of 2010. These young females appear to be nice, functional cows with neat udders. Disposition on these females at calving time was superb - Joy loved them!

CC&7's name: Connection, Corona, and all 7 females in his pedigree have either served as a SydGen donor or been the dam of a SydGen donor. Four more cows off the pedigree have also served as donors for Sydenstrickers.

CC&7's disposition is truly second-to-none. At our August 2008 birthday bash, farm visitors were found petting CC&7 calves in the lot - calves that had been weaned for just three weeks! We have noticed a difference in the calmness of our calf crops when there is a significant portion of CC&7 calves.

CC&7 was the #1 adjusted weaning weight bull and top selling bull in the fall 2006 Sydenstricker offering. CC&7 went on to post the top ADG at 3.92 lbs./day, ratio 124, the top Yearling Weight at 1,467 lbs., ratio 121, and the top Ribeye measurement at 17.3", ratio 130.

Continuing the tradition of fertility established by his popular sire, CC&7 posted an adjusted scrotal measurement of 40.1 cm, and froze 127 units of high-quality semen at ORIgen on his first collection day, just 5 days past his first birthday. This came after being halter broke just two weeks before being on display nearly a week in Denver! CC&7 is now one of ORIgen's leading semen collecting bulls with many weeks topping out over 1000 units collected per week.
