Basin Excitement

Excitement hit a home run with the spring 2011 calf crop – among the non-ET calves, his calves were the top ratioing sire group! Six herds have reported weaning data on his calves, which have an average 103 WR, 110 IMF ratio, and 102 ribeye ratio. We will calve the first Excitement daughters in February of 2012.

Excitement was the top selling bull in the 2009 Basin Angus sale in Hobson, Montana at $25,000. Several registered breeders zeroed in on this bull sale day, hence the name "Excitement". Excitement performed well with a 119 WR, 115 YR, 115 IMF ratio, and 111 ribeye ratio. He is sound made, clean-fronted and offers an outcross pedigree to the Hoover program.

Excitement is our most trusted sure-fire calving ease sire. Many heifers have been bred to this bull the past three years. Excitement calves out of heifers can come 10-12 days early, with consistently low birth weights. This short gestation will help keep his BW EPD low and CED high. Many progeny will highlight our February 2012 production sale, as well as many females carrying his service.

Excitement's dam is a moderate framed cow with a square udder and nice disposition. His sire has exceptional rib and fleshing ability.
