TC Friction 5130

Friction is one of the biggest "spread" bulls in the Hoover herd bull line-up. With a far below breed average BW EPD to a WW and YW EPD at the top of the breed, Friction calves were some of the most sought-after calves in our past production sales. Seven Friction fall bulls averaged $4722 in our 2009 production sale to be the top averaging sire group of the older bulls.

We successfully use Friction on heifers. Friction calves have added length and frame, yet maintain fleshing ability. Friction was purchased as a calving ease bull for $10,500 in 2006 from TC Ranch.

Friction daughters are heavy milking females doing a good job. This has helped Friction's Milk EPD climb to the 7th highest Milk EPD among current Angus sires!

Friction also ranks at the top of the breed for Docility EPD – he has the 10th highest Docility EPD among current Angus sires!

The last set of natural Friction calves will sell in our February 2011 sale. Soon after leasing Friction to Accelerated Genetics, he developed a jaw injury, which in turn affected his semen quality. After many treatments, the jaw injury was unable to be overcome, and we had to put the bull down. Luckily we have retained one of his top sons, G290, as his replacement. Semen is in extremely limited supply and no longer offered for sale.
