$47,500 record selling bull in the 83-year history of Hoover Angus Farm! ABS has labeled Hoover Dam as "Rock Solid .90 accuracy", which the bull achieved in just two calf crops! Hoover Dam was one of only 26 Angus sires that had over 1000 progeny registered in 2011! His progeny have been recorded though AHIR in over 300 Angus herds.
The Hoover Dam calves have exceptional thickness, especially for a bull with such a proven low birth weight. They have eye appeal, power and mass in a moderate framed package. Even more exciting is Hoover Dam's successes in carcass and feed efficiency traits. His carcass EPDs have risen significantly after calves have been ultrasounded in herds across the country. Over 1200 progeny in 172 herds have an average 105 IMF ratio and 101 RE ratio! Hoover Dam's Ribeye EPD continues to rise above the top 1% of the breed. In the 2011 Midland Bull Test, progeny from multiple herds also topped the test for RFI score, with the average RFI -2.79!
Hoover Dam is one of the most visited bulls at ORIgen, where he continues to impress those who see him for his powerful phenotype and gentle disposition. Several experienced breeders at the 2009 Hoover Angus sale commented that Hoover Dam was arguably the thickest Angus bull they have witnessed in the past 15-20 years! Hoover Dam was the 3rd heaviest weaning weight calf of over 150 spring-born bull calves!
