Hoover Angus Farm's 21st Annual, 83rd Anniversary Sale was held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Creston Livestock Auction in Creston, IA. Despite blizzard conditions, 181 live lots grossed $767,850 to average $4242.
102 bulls averaged $5003. Eight two year-old bulls averaged $4438, 19 fall bulls averaged $5679, and 75 yearling bulls averaged $4892. The favorites of the day were the 36 SydGen CC&7 sons averaging $6835. A semen interest in herd sire Hoover Carbon Copy sold for $4500, and an embryo package sold for $3200.
56 spring bred heifers averaged $3279, 13 fall bred heifers averaged $2627, and 10 open heifers averaged $3980.
Top bull: Lot 49, Hoover Headliner J32 (formerly named Hoover CC&7 J32), sold 2/3 interest for $30,000 to Select Sires, Plain City, OH. He is a 1-30-10 son of SydGen CC&7.
