2010 Hoover Angus Farm Production Sale

Hoover Angus Farm’s 20th Annual, 82nd Anniversary Sale was held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Creston Livestock Auction in Creston, IA. 179 lots grossed $632,550 to average $3534.

104 bulls averaged $3902. Nine two year-old bulls averaged $4156, 29 fall bulls averaged $4328, and 66 yearling bulls averaged $3681. The favorites of the day were the 44 SydGen CC&7 sons averaging $5202.

47 spring bred heifers averaged $2548, 18 fall bred heifers averaged $1686, and 10 open heifers averaged $7660.

Top bull: Lot 57, H&K CC&7 H198 sold 2/3 interest for $14,000 to RBM Livestock, Florence, SD. He is a 2-23-09 son of SydGen CC&7.

Second top bull: Lot 31, H&K CC&7 H24 sold 2/3 interest for $13,500 to Werning Cattle Company, Emery, SD. He is a 1-30-09 son of SydGen CC&7.

Third top bull: Lot 13, Hoover Home Run, previously named H&K CC&7 H250, sold 2/3 interest for $13,000 to Idland Cattle Company, Circle, MT, Stevenson's Diamond Dot, Hobson, MT, and Currant Creek Ranch, Roundup, MT. He is a 3-6-09 son of SydGen CC&7.

Fourth top bull: Lot 97, H&K CC&7 G452 sold 2/3 interest for $12,000 to Bruce Sawyers, Winterset, IA. He is an 8-30-08 son of SydGen CC&7.

Top open heifer and high selling female: Lot 187, “Hoover Dame”, Erica of Ellston H170 sold for $50,000 to Sioux Pass/Wolf Mountain Angus, Lodge Grass, MT; Basin Angus Ranch, Hobson, MT; Gary Wall, Baxter, IA; AJC Angus, Baxter, IA; Foster Creek Farms, Wells, MN; Carlson Angus, Regent, ND; Brice Conover, Baxter, IA; Gain & Weigh Stock Farm, Stanley, IA and Jeff Brand, Lake City, MN. She is a 2-19-09 full sister to Hoover Dam.

Second high selling female and top bred heifer: Lot 107, Lady Ida of Ellston G180 sold for $9000 to the same syndicate buyers as Lot 187, “Hoover Dame”. She is a 2-20-08 daughter of SydGen CC&7 bred to Basin Excitement.
