Congratulations to Jonathan Cerven on his
Champion Angus Heifer at the 2007 Montgomery County Fair!
This heifer was purchased in the 2007 Hoover Angus Farm Production Sale.
Jonathan is the son of Roger and Rebecca Cerven.

Congratulations to Candace Weeda for exhibiting the Reserve Champion Pen of 3 Steers at the 2007 Union County Fair! Candace purchased her steers from the steer calves at Hoover Angus Farm.

Candace's 3 steers started out 21 pounds apart at their beginning weigh-in, and finished 29 pounds apart at the fair. Her steers (two sired by SAV New Design 3105 and one by RBM Neutron X3 192) gained 3.30, 3.23, and 3.14 pounds per day to be the top gaining pen of steers at the fair! Her two steers that received carcass data at the packing plant showed two Choice steers, one of which qualified for Certified Angus Beef. Candace's third steer was purchasedby Ken Cheers and sent to a local processor.

Mark Triggs raises calves from his Neutron 377 son purchased from Hoover Angus, from a Maine bull, and from a registered Angus bull from a prominent Angus breeder. When Mark weaned his calves this past fall, calves sired by the 377 son were the heaviest weight group averaging 778 pounds, the Maine calves next at 708 pounds, and the other Angus sired calves weaned at 651 pounds. That's 127 pounds per calf comparing the two Angus bulls! Mark says his 377 son produces these top weaning calves every year.

Carl Stephens has 43 cows and he had 46 calves unassisted this past year. . . yes, three sets of twins. One cow did not claim one calf, so his granddaughter took it as a bottle calf to the fair. Carl is happy with the Hoover Angus bull that sired his 46 calves. Congratulations Carl on a great calving season!

Mike Hibma (MICA Cattle Co.) purchased B230 for $2100 and resold her 10 months later for $6000, 1/2 embryo interest! Thousands of dollars worth of embryos have been sold from this female. Congratulations Mike! Hoover Angus females are working in some of the best club calf herds in the state.
